Tear-offs

Tear-offs are thin clear films stacked on a goggle lens; when mud covers your view you pull one off to see again.

Tear-offs are thin, transparent plastic sheets fitted in a stack over the lens of motocross or enduro goggles, held by pins on the goggle frame. When roost or mud blocks your vision, you grab the tab and pull off the outer layer to reveal a clean one underneath.

They are mainly used in racing and wet, muddy conditions. Laminated stacks of several layers save time, as you can fit them in one go before a race.

Tips: use tear-offs that match your goggle model, pull them off towards the side away from the track rather than in front of other riders, and in very muddy conditions consider a roll-off system, which winds clean film across the lens instead.
