Kangaroo Leather

Kangaroo leather is a thin, light and very strong hide used in premium racing suits, gloves and boots.

Kangaroo leather is a hide valued in motorcycle gear for its high strength relative to its weight and thickness. Its fibres run more uniformly than in cowhide, so a thinner, lighter piece can offer similar tear and abrasion resistance.

It is used mainly in premium racing suits, especially in high-wear areas, and in gloves and boots, where its suppleness gives better feel on the controls. Garments made of it are lighter and more flexible, though usually more expensive than cowhide.

Care is the same as for other leathers: wipe off dirt and insects after riding, let wet gear dry slowly away from direct heat and treat it with a leather conditioner suited to motorcycle gear.
