Hydration Pack (Bladder)

A hydration pack is a backpack with a water bladder and drinking tube, letting you drink while riding enduro or adventure.

A hydration pack is a backpack or vest holding a soft water reservoir, the bladder, with a tube and bite valve near your mouth. You can drink in short breaks or even while riding, without removing your helmet or gloves.

Staying hydrated is essential in enduro, motocross and adventure riding, as dehydration quickly reduces strength, concentration and reaction speed and makes arm pump worse. Typical bladders hold 1.5–3 litres. Many packs also have room for tools, a tyre lever, a tow strap and a snack, and some include a back protector.

Rinse and dry the bladder after every use, and clean it occasionally with a dedicated cleaning tablet or baking soda to prevent mould. With an open-face or MX helmet, route the tube so it cannot snag.
