Paddock

The paddock is the area at a race track where teams park transporters, set up awnings and prepare and repair the bikes.

The paddock is the service area at a race circuit or motocross track where teams and riders park vans, trucks and motorhomes, put up awnings and work on their bikes between sessions. At big events it also holds hospitality units and team offices.

It is separate from the pit lane, which is next to the track and used for entering and leaving it. Paddock rules typically include a speed limit, mandatory environmental mats under bikes, fire extinguishers and restrictions on riding without a helmet.

For club racers a good paddock setup is simple: a stand, tools, fuel, spare levers and tyres, a tyre warmer generator for road racing, and shade for the rider between races.
