Minibike

A minibike is a small, low motorcycle with small wheels, usually for children, pit use or fun riding rather than public roads.

A minibike is a scaled-down motorcycle with small wheels, a low seat and a simple engine, often a four-stroke of around 50–125 cc. Most are not road legal and are used off-road, on private land, in paddocks or on kart and supermoto tracks.

Related types include pit bikes (small dirt bikes with 10–14 inch wheels), children's motocross bikes and pocket bikes, tiny road-racer replicas. They are a common first step for young riders learning throttle, brake and balance control.

When choosing one for a child, look at seat height, power limiters, a throttle stop and a good-quality chain and brakes. Always use a helmet, gloves, boots and body protection, even at low speed.
