Sport bike

A sport bike is a road-legal motorcycle derived from racing, with full fairing, a forward riding position and engines tuned for high revs.

A sport bike (sportbike) is a road-legal motorcycle designed with racing in mind. Typical features are a full aerodynamic fairing, a low screen, clip-on handlebars, rear-set footpegs, a stiff aluminium frame, high-performance brakes and engines that make their power at high rpm.

The category ranges from light 300–400 cc beginner bikes through 600–750 cc supersports to 1000 cc superbikes. They handle superbly and suit track days, but the riding position puts weight on the wrists and is tiring on long trips or in slow traffic.

If you mostly ride on the road, consider a sport tourer or a naked bike with similar performance and a more upright position.
