Superbike

A superbike is a top-level sport bike, usually around 1000 cc, and the name of the World Superbike racing class for production-based machines.

A superbike is a top-of-the-range sport bike with the most powerful engine and advanced electronics in its maker's line-up, typically around 1000 cc for four-cylinders and somewhat larger for twins. Modern superbikes produce well over 150 kW and come with traction, wheelie, slide and launch control, cornering ABS and often semi-active suspension.

The name also refers to racing: the World Superbike Championship (WorldSBK) and national superbike series use machines based on road-going models, unlike MotoGP prototypes.

Superbikes are extremely capable on track but demanding on the road, where their potential can rarely be used. Choose a less extreme model if you mainly ride on public roads or are not yet experienced.
