GPX Track

A GPX track is a recorded or planned route saved in GPS Exchange Format for use on navigators and riding apps.

A GPX track is a series of GPS coordinates stored in the GPS Exchange Format, an open XML-based file type. It describes a path as a line of points and can be recorded while riding or drawn in planning software.

GPX files can contain tracks (an exact line to follow), routes (waypoints the device calculates between) and individual waypoints. Riders share them for adventure routes, enduro loops and tours, and most navigators and apps can import them.

For off-road riding, prefer tracks over routes: a navigator recalculating a route may send you onto a main road instead of the trail. Always check that a shared track uses roads and paths where riding is legal.
