Supercross (SX)

Supercross (SX) is motocross on tight man-made tracks, usually in stadiums, with big jumps, rhythm sections and whoops.

Supercross, abbreviated SX, is a form of motocross held on short, tight, man-made tracks, usually inside stadiums or arenas. Tracks feature large jumps, rhythm sections, whoops, tight berms and steep obstacles, and races are short and intense, often at night under floodlights.

The best-known series is the AMA Supercross Championship in the United States, while the FIM World Supercross Championship and arena events are held in Europe and elsewhere. The skills differ from outdoor motocross: precision, timing in rhythm sections and very stiff suspension setups matter most.

For amateurs, a supercross-style practice track is demanding; work on jumping technique and rhythm combinations gradually with proper coaching.
