Floorboards

Floorboards are large, flat foot platforms used instead of footpegs on cruisers and touring bikes, letting the rider move their feet for comfort.

Floorboards are wide, flat footrests, usually rubber-covered and often rubber-mounted to cut vibration. They replace footpegs on many cruisers, baggers and touring motorcycles, for both rider and passenger.

Their main advantage is comfort on long rides: you can shift your feet and change leg position. Footboards on scooters do the same job. The downside is less ground clearance – floorboards scrape early in corners and usually have replaceable wear pads underneath.

Floorboards are typically paired with a heel-and-toe gear lever. Check the scrape pads regularly and replace them before metal touches the road.
