Drag Bars

Drag bars are low, flat, straight handlebars, popular on custom and cruiser bikes; they give a forward-leaning, sporty riding position.

Drag bars are straight, flat handlebars with little or no rise or sweep, mounted on short risers. The name comes from drag racing, where a low, stretched-out position cuts wind resistance.

They are popular on custom bikes, bobbers and cafe-style builds for their clean look. They put more weight on the wrists and less leverage on the steering than wider bars, so they suit short rides better than long tours.

When fitting new bars, check that cables, hoses and wiring are long enough at full lock, that nothing touches the tank, and that bar-end mirrors or other mirrors still give a legal rear view.
