Doughnut (Donut)

A doughnut is spinning the bike around the front wheel with the rear tyre smoking or roosting, leaving a circle of rubber or a ring in the dirt.

A doughnut (or donut) is a stunt where the rider keeps the front wheel roughly in place while the spinning rear tyre swings the bike in a circle. On tarmac it leaves a ring of rubber marks; off-road it digs a circular rut.

It is done by locking the steering, holding the front brake lightly and using clutch and throttle to keep the rear spinning. It wears tyres and clutch fast and stresses the drivetrain.

Doughnuts belong on private land or at stunt events. On public roads they are illegal in most countries and damage the surface. Off-road, they tear up tracks and fields and can cost riders access to riding areas.
