Clip-On Handlebars

Clip-ons are separate handlebar halves clamped directly to the fork tubes, giving the low, forward riding position of sports and race bikes.

Clip-ons are handlebars split into two separate halves, each clamped directly onto a fork tube instead of a one-piece bar mounted on the top yoke. They can sit below the top yoke, for a low racing position, or above it for a slightly more comfortable one.

Clip-ons are standard on sports bikes and popular on cafe racer builds. The low, forward position puts more weight on the front wheel, which improves front-end feel and grip and helps the rider tuck in behind the fairing. The downside is more weight on the wrists and less leverage at low speeds.

When fitting clip-ons, check that cables, brake lines and wiring are long enough at full lock, that the bars don't hit the tank, and tighten the clamps to the specified torque.
