Tripmeter

A tripmeter is a resettable distance counter showing kilometres since the last reset; useful for fuel planning and rally navigation.

A tripmeter, or trip counter, is a resettable odometer that shows the distance travelled since you last zeroed it. Most dashboards have one or two (Trip A and Trip B) alongside the total odometer, which cannot be reset.

Riders use it to track the range since the last fill-up, which is especially useful on bikes without a fuel gauge, to measure fuel consumption and to follow route directions. Many bikes reset one trip automatically when you refuel.

In rally and navigation riding, a dedicated rally trip meter (often called an ICO) is used, with handlebar buttons to adjust the distance up or down so it matches the roadbook. Remember that a different tyre size or worn tyres slightly change the reading.
