Side-saddle mount

The side-saddle mount is a way to get on a tall bike: sit sideways on the seat from the left, then swing the leg over or bring legs into position.

A side-saddle mount is a technique for getting on a tall motorcycle, such as an adventure or enduro bike, when you cannot easily swing a leg over the seat. Standing on the left with the bike on its sidestand, you sit sideways on the seat, then swing your right leg over the rear or lift it across while bringing the bike upright.

Other options are using the left footpeg as a step with the bike on its stand, or lowering the bike with a lower seat or suspension link if the problem is constant.

Always hold the front brake while mounting, check the sidestand is down and the ground firm, and practise with an assistant at first.
