Parc fermé

Parc fermé is a closed area where competition bikes are held under the organiser's control and no work is allowed except as the rules permit.

Parc fermé (French for “closed park”) is a guarded area where bikes are kept between stages or after the finish, under the control of the organiser. Riders and mechanics may not touch the bikes except as the rules allow, for example to push them in and out at their time.

It is common in enduro (including the ISDE), rally-raid and trial events. In enduro, riders typically get only a short working time at the start of each day, often 10–15 minutes as set by the rules, so preparation and quick fixes are part of the competition. After races, parc fermé also lets scrutineers check bikes for technical compliance.
