The service life of a spark plug is determined by the fuel type, engine condition, operating times and engine temperature. For 4-stroke engines from 250cc, the plugs should be cleaned or replaced after 6000km. For smaller displacements, especially 2-strokes, approx. every 2500 km. After this mileage, oil carbon deposits lead to starting difficulties and loss of power caused by the spark plug. Increased short-distance operation and poor engine oil quality can shorten the intervals.
