Details

The rectifier/regulator changes the alternating voltage generated in the alternator into the direct voltage of 12V used in the vehicle electrical system and keeps the voltage within a certain tolerance range. This charges the battery and ensures that bulbs, for example, do not burn out.
As this component is exposed to very high temperatures, it often breaks.
If the rectifier/regulator is defective, the battery is constantly flat, with certain ignition systems the ignition system no longer works, bulbs burn out continuously or the headlights flicker.
