Shotgun pipes

Shotgun pipes are a twin exhaust style with two parallel pipes ending side by side, like a double-barrelled shotgun; popular on V-twin customs.

Shotgun pipes are a style of exhaust with two straight, parallel pipes that run along one side of the bike and end next to each other, resembling the barrels of a double-barrelled shotgun. They are mainly seen on V-twin cruisers and custom bikes.

Like other aftermarket exhausts, they change sound, back pressure and sometimes fuelling. Many shotgun systems are louder than stock, and engines with fuel injection may need remapping to run correctly.

In the EU, exhausts used on public roads must be type-approved (E-marked) for the model and meet noise rules. Check this before buying, as non-approved systems can lead to fines or a failed inspection.
