Pit bike

A pit bike is a small dirt bike with 10–14 inch wheels and a simple 110–190 cc four-stroke engine, used for training and fun.

A pit bike is a small dirt bike, named after the bikes riders used to get around the pits at races. Today it is a class of its own, popular for training, fun riding and racing for both young riders and adults.

A typical pit bike has a horizontal-cylinder four-stroke engine (usually 110–190 cc) based on Honda's small engine design, and 10, 12 or 14 inch wheels. Low weight, a low seat and cheap spares make it a great machine for honing riding skills.

A pit bike is an off-road vehicle and usually can't be registered for the road – ride it on closed tracks and private land. Wear full protective gear, just as on a full-size motocross bike.
