Everyone who takes part in racing knows that the tires used are of crucial importance.
It is not just the tread, but above all the rubber compound suited to the weather conditions, track and vehicle. Every newcomer to the racing world notices this when experienced riders literally race past them. The enormous difference in tire performance is immediately obvious to anyone who has tried the legendary PMT tires.
The Italian company PMT (Pauselli Modell Tyres), active since 1990, previously operated only in the remote-controlled car and mini-motorcycle sector, which is very popular in Italy.
By entering the scooter sector, they immediately secured a leading position among the preferred tires of top racers. PMT tires are available in compounds perfectly suited to different ground, weather and temperature conditions.
Slick, compound: hard
The hard-compound slick is ideal for tracks with high asphalt temperatures and intensive use involving numerous direction changes and braking maneuvers. The hard compound is the most abrasion-resistant and can therefore be used very effectively in endurance and long-distance races. The warm-up phase to the optimum operating temperature (~ 80° C) is significantly longer with this compound than with the medium or soft compound.
The recommended air pressure is 1,2-1,3 bar at the front and 1,4-1,9 bar at the rear.
Slick, compound: medium
The medium compound bridges the gap between the hard compound and the soft compound, which provides excellent grip but also wears quickly. The medium compound therefore covers a very wide range of applications. Its optimum operating temperature is around 75°C and, like the hard compound, it requires a longer break-in period than the soft compound to reach temperature.
The recommended air pressure is 1,2 to 1,3 bar at the front and 1,4 to 1,9 bar at the rear.
Slick, compound: soft
The PMT soft compound offers total grip even at low temperatures. It therefore wears quickly at higher temperatures and no longer offers total grip. On the other hand, it reaches its optimum operating temperature of 70°C very quickly.
The recommended air pressure is 1,2 to 1,3 bar at the front and 1,4 to 1,9 bar at the rear.
Slick, Rain
With the Rain Slick, PMT offers a new interpretation of an intermediate tire. Based on the rubber compound of a pure rain tire, an intermediate tire with a smooth tread has been created. Ideal for changing weather with equal proportions of wet and dry sections.
The recommended inflation pressure is 1,2 to 1,3 bar at the front and 1,4 to 1,9 bar at the rear.
Rain Racing
PMT's rain tire plays in the highest league of rain experts for the racetrack.
Anyone who has fitted this tire needs a good excuse if it did not result in a good placing...
The recommended air pressure is 1,2-1,3 bar at the front and 1,4-1,9 bar at the rear.
Drag Race
PMT Drag Race tires are ideal for all quarter-mile engines.
No grip is lost here, and all power is transferred to the asphalt without slipping.
That also means there is no mercy for the clutch or gearbox...
