Ride modes

Ride modes are electronic presets that change throttle response, power, traction control, ABS and sometimes suspension for different conditions.

Ride modes are selectable electronic settings on many modern motorcycles. One button press changes several systems at once: throttle response and power delivery, the level of traction control, wheelie control, ABS behaviour and, on bikes with semi-active suspension, damping.

Typical modes are Rain (soft response, more intervention), Road or Street (balanced), Sport (sharper, less intervention) and on adventure bikes Off-road or Enduro, which may allow rear wheel slip and switch off rear ABS. Many bikes also offer a user mode with custom settings.

Read the manual to see what each mode changes, and try new modes in a safe place before relying on them in difficult conditions.
