bgm PRO insulation wool consists of highly heat-resistant ceramic-based mineral wool. Exhaust manufacturers often use inexpensive insulation material to minimize production costs. The result is often mufflers which do not deserve this name after a short period of operation. The wool burns, meaning it cakes into a solid lump that no longer has any sound-absorbing properties. A long-term remedy is our bgm PRO insulation wool, a high-quality replacement for the original wool.

It comes already packed for one silencer filling, suitable for the most common silencers in the 50-70cc range. The dismantled silencer should be cleaned thoroughly before filling with new wool. The main focus should be on the perforated pipe. Under unfavourable circumstances, the pipe perforation can become clogged, resulting in a still-loud silencer despite filling it with new wool. Therefore, simply pierce the perforation with a slim screwdriver. The amount of wool should always be chosen so that it is sufficiently firm not to be pushed away by exhaust-gas pressure, but loose enough to guarantee good sound insulation.
