With this special design, it is possible to exchange engines of the older generation (M53-M54) for the newer series (M531-M742). Without changes to the frame, the engine can be mounted to the cylinder head like before. This cylinder head has a combustion chamber diameter of 40mm. To use a 60cc cylinder (or larger), the cylinder head must still be adapted.
