Batteries contain harmful substances and are labeled with the crossed wheelie bin symbol (kindly see below). Batteries marked with the crossed wheelie bin do not belong to regular household waste. They must be disposed properly and brought to separate collection facilities/drop-off locations for recycling. Due to concern about cadmium, lead-acid and mercury in municipal waste stream, health and environmental risk, batteries containing more than 0.002% by weight of cadmium (Cd), 0.004% by weight of lead (Pb) or 0.0005% by weight of mercury (Hg) require the chemical symbol underneath the crossed wheelie bin logo, respectively. Under terms of the German Battery Ordinance § 10 BattG (Pfandpflicht für Fahrzeugbatterien), as a distributor of automotive batteries, we are legally obligated to charge a fixed refund fee of 7.50 EUR. The fee will be added to sales price. Our suppliers of batteries and accumulators are within the meaning of the Battery Ordinance and registered producers or importers of the German Environmental Department according to specification of § 10 BattG and identified by numbers: 21000231, 21001701, 21001726, 21001110, 21001718, 21003341, 21000820, 21003341.
