The set contains a piston, gudgeon pin, piston rings and 2 gudgeon pin circlips. This piston has the same dimensions as the original item. To prolong the life of the engine and avoid expensive repair bills, the piston should be replaced when power starts to drop off or the engine begins to “knock”. This is generally every 5-10,000km (approximately every 3-6,000 miles). Simply swap the old piston for the new one and everything is good again. It is advisable to order a new gasket set and little-end bearings when changing the piston.
