Midland expands its device range with a hybrid Bluetooth and Mesh technology intercom featuring a simplified user interface, Magiclock magnetic attachment system, RCF sound and top-quality performance. Thanks to MIDLAND MESH technology, dynamic communication with one or more motorcyclists is possible, overcoming the typical “chain” configuration of Bluetooth conferences. The presence of two processors ensures highly stable connections with TFT displays. Finally, the CVP (Crystal Voice Processing) function delivers clear and powerful sound. R1 MESH enriches Midland’s intercom range based on MMC (Midland Mesh) technology developed by MIDLAND R&D.

OBI PROTOCOL
After reaching an agreement with Cardo and Uclear, Midland is developing a new protocol: OPEN BLUETOOTH INTERCOM (OBI). Universal communication solutions allow riders to decide freely whether to replace their communication devices without affecting the appearance of the helmet. Essentially, the “Universal Communication Solution” standardises the size and shape of communication systems, enabling integrated installation in new motorcycle helmets approved according to the new ECE 22.06 standards. With this feature, riders can choose a Midland, Cardo or Uclear intercom and easily pair and connect intercoms from different brands, ensuring continuous connection and continued use of all modes, including calling and speaking.
