The Shield MK2 are Knox’s strongest and most technologically advanced jeans yet. This is due to their amazing strength and high-performance Class AAA rating that conforms to EN17092-2:2020. To put this in perspective, the AAA class is normally associated with leather race suits. They are single-layer Class AAA stretch jeans in a tapered leg – a classic style for those looking for the strongest protection available.

Made from pioneering new denim developed for Knox with Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibre. UHMWPE fibre is one of the world’s strongest and lightest fibres – it is 40% stronger than aramid and fifteen times stronger than steel.

Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene fibres are known for their high strength and durability, while still offering added stretch for exceptional all-day comfort on a motorcycle. The denim is made with elastane to provide ease of movement while delivering the highest level of AAA protection. The unique weave delivers unparalleled strength for comparable weights. The UHMWPE fibre also repels moisture, helping the wearer stay dry, and helps keep the rider cool by drawing heat away from the body. Its robust nature significantly reduces concern about regular wear and tear. The jeans are also hypoallergenic and will not cause irritation.

There are two invisible zipped armour pockets with easy external access for removal of low-profile Knox CE Micro-Lock protectors in the knees. These are fitted as standard. The carefully tailored tapered fit looks perfect both on and off the bike. Updated details include new technical branding on the waist, Knox-branded rivets, key ring and waist button, plus YKK zips. Four deep pockets with a charcoal abstract print make gearing up in the Shield a delight.

The Shield jeans are available in classic indigo blue and black. They are machine washable, adding to their practicality.

SIZE GUIDE

Waist: To determine your size, measure your waist where your trousers normally sit. As a guide, this is approximately 2 inches (about 5–6 cm) below the navel. To get your trouser size, subtract 2 inches (about 5–6 cm) from this result.

Inside leg: measure from the inside crotch to the heel/floor. For greater accuracy, measure while standing. Men’s leg lengths are 33 inches (regular) and 30 inches (short). Note: the measurements provided are body measurements and we do not recommend measuring over clothing. Please keep the measuring tape firm, not loose, as the measurement must be accurate.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Storage: hang the garment in a dry, ventilated environment away from sunlight and direct heat sources. Do not leave it on the floor or under heavy objects, as this may cause protectors to change shape, tear or become damaged. Do not fold the garment or protector in half, as this may damage the protector. Keep away from chemicals that may damage the material and reduce its protective properties.

Maintenance: the impact protection and fastening system should be inspected regularly, at least once a year, for obvious signs of wear. If the impact protectors are worn or damaged, or if there is any doubt about their condition, they must be replaced immediately. It is recommended that protector covers be replaced every 5 years regardless of condition. If the protectors have received an impact in an accident scenario, they must be replaced immediately.

Washing care: carefully remove the protectors from the garment before washing. Protectors should only be cleaned by hand.
