Waterproof USB socket caps protect the motorcycle installation against unwanted short circuits. The device still has minimal power consumption (6 mA), as it remains permanently connected to the motorcycle installation. During longer periods of non-use, remove the fuse or disconnect the installation's intermediate connectors.

The device is resistant to temporary splashing, but not to continuous direct contact with water.
