Knox Shield men's motorcycle jeans

The pinnacle of the Knox jean collection due to their amazing strength and high-performance CLASS AAA RATING, a class normally reserved for leather suits. The Shield Jeans are a true single layer jean with no extra mesh lining like most single layer jeans and are made with a newly developed Spectra® denim. They look exactly like regular jeans but with incredible strength and durability. Spectra® is 40% stronger than aramid and fifteen times stronger than steel and is one of the world’s strongest and lightest fibres.

STYLE NOTES These high-performance single layer jeans are the pinnacle of the Knox jean collection. This is due to their amazing strength and high-performance Class AAA rating that conforms to EN17092-2:2020. To put this in perspective, the AAA class is normally reserved for one-piece leather race suits. Shield denim jeans are made from Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene fibres. These fibres are known for their high strength and durability, yet they still offer added stretch for exceptional all-day comfort on a motorcycle. Spectra®, being one of the world’s lightest yet strongest fabrics, is 40% stronger than aramid and fifteen times stronger than steel. The weave of the denim is entirely unique and delivers unparalleled strength for like-for-like weights. Spectra® also repels moisture, helping the wearer stay dry, while the fibre pulls heat from the body to help the rider stay cool. These fibres are hypoallergenic and will not cause irritation.

There are four invisible armour pockets with easy external access for removal of low-profile Knox CE Micro-Lock protectors in the hips and knees. These are fitted as standard and come with a five-year guarantee when registered. These Shield jeans form part of the Knox Seasonless Collection. Simply add waterproof trousers over the top when it rains and wear a base layer for added comfort. The Spectra denim fabric also provides some heat resistance. They have been tested to EN ISO 11612:2015 and pass all requirements for both radiant and contact heat.

All of this is delivered with a carefully tailored tapered fit that looks perfect both on and off the bike. Details such as leather branding on the waist, Knox-branded rivets, a key ring and waist button, as well as YKK zips, finish these Shield jeans to the incredibly high standards on which they are built. Four deep pockets and machine washability add to their practicality. The Shield jeans are available in indigo blue with a choice of a regular 33” or short 30” leg. Sizes range from S–3XL.

Size guide
Waist: To determine your size, measure your waist where your trousers usually sit. This is approximately 2 inches, or about 5–6 cm, below the navel.
Inside leg: Measure along the inside of the leg from the crotch to the heel/floor. Measure standing for greater accuracy.
Note: The measurements provided are body measurements. We recommend measuring without clothing. Hold the tape firmly, not loosely, as the measurement must be accurate.

Protector care and maintenance
Storage: Store protectors hanging in a dry, ventilated place away from sunlight and direct heat sources. Do not leave them on the floor or under heavy objects, as this may cause deformation, tearing or other damage. Do not fold the garment with the protector inside or fold the protector in half. Keep away from chemicals that may damage the material and reduce its protective properties.
Maintenance: Inspect protectors and their fastenings regularly, at least once a year, for visible signs of wear. Replace protectors immediately if worn or damaged, or if there is any doubt about their condition. It is recommended to replace protectors every 5 years regardless of their condition. Replace them immediately after every road accident.
During washing: Carefully remove the protectors from the trousers before washing. Protectors may only be cleaned by hand.
