The Shield MK2 are Knox’s strongest, most technologically advanced jeans yet. This is due to their amazing strength and high-performance Class AAA rating that conforms to EN17092-2:2020. To put this in perspective, the AAA class is normally associated with leather race suits.

They are single-layer Class AAA stretch jeans in a tapered leg – a classic style for those looking for the strongest protection available. Made from pioneering new denim developed for Knox with Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibre. UHMWPE fibre is one of the world’s strongest and lightest fibres – it is 40% stronger than aramid and fifteen times stronger than steel.

UHMWPE fibre is known for its high strength and durability, while still offering added stretch for exceptional all-day comfort on a motorcycle. The denim is made with elastane to provide ease of movement while delivering the highest level of AAA protection. Its unique weave delivers unparalleled strength for like-for-like weights. The fibre also repels moisture, helping the wearer stay dry, and helps keep the rider cool by drawing heat away from the body. Its robust nature reduces concerns about regular wear and tear. The jeans are also hypoallergenic and will not cause irritation.

There are two invisible zipped armour pockets with easy external access for removal of the low-profile Knox CE Micro-Lock protectors in the knees. These are fitted as standard. A carefully tailored tapered fit looks perfect both on and off the bike. Updated details include new technical branding on the waist, Knox-branded rivets, a key ring and waist button, plus YKK zips. Four deep pockets with charcoal abstract-print lining make gearing up in the Shield a delight.

The Shield jeans are available in classic indigo blue and black, with a choice of regular 33” or short 30” leg length. Sizes range from S to 3XL. They are also machine washable, adding to their practicality.

Size Guide

Waist: To determine your size, measure your waist where the trousers usually sit, approximately 2 inches (about 5–6 cm) below the navel. To obtain the trouser size, subtract 2 inches (about 5–6 cm) from this measurement.

Inside leg: measure from the inside of the crotch to the heel/floor. For accuracy, measure while standing. Men have two leg lengths: 33 inches (regular) and 30 inches (short). Measurements given are body measurements; do not measure over clothing. Hold the tape firmly, not loosely.

Size: S, waist 30” / 76 cm; M, 32” / 81 cm; L, 34” / 87 cm; XL, 36” / 92 cm; 2XL, 38” / 97 cm; 3XL, 40” / 102 cm; 4XL, 42” / 107 cm; 5XL, 44” / 112 cm.

Care and Maintenance

Hang the garment in a dry, ventilated environment away from sunlight and direct heat sources. Do not leave it on the floor or under heavy objects, as this may alter the shape of the protectors or cause tearing or damage. Do not fold the garment or protector in half. Keep away from chemicals that may damage the material and reduce its protective properties.

Regularly inspect the impact protectors and fastening system, at least once a year, for visible signs of wear. Worn or damaged protectors, or protectors in questionable condition, must be replaced immediately. Replacing the protectors every 5 years is recommended regardless of their condition. If the protectors receive an impact in an accident, replace them immediately.

Before washing, carefully remove the protectors from the garment. Protectors should only be cleaned by hand.
