What is an ACR charging relay?

In a boat with two batteries, it is useful to be able to charge both at the same time while underway. The ACR charging relay detects the voltage, and when the battery terminal voltage rises to 13.6V or higher for 30 seconds, the ACR connects the batteries and charges them fully as one battery. A terminal voltage of 13.6V cannot occur without charging. Conversely, when the terminal voltage drops to 12.7V or below for 10 seconds, the VSR relay disconnects the batteries again so they can be controlled separately with the main switches.
