SAPIM's CX-Ray aero spokes are currently the best money can buy,
e.g. the spokes used in Zipp carbon fiber wheels give both an aerodynamic
advantage over round spokes, and at the same time make the wheels lighter
and stronger, as incredible as it sounds!
Almost 30% lighter than "normal" surfaces, you could imagine that something would have
to be compromised, such as durability. But still, CX-Ray spokes can withstand 3.5 million
weight/stress tests, which is about three times more than any other surface!
The CX-Ray aero surfaces are made of high-strength 18/8 stainless steel,
