Malossi VR-One crankcase with diaphragm inlet suitable for Vespa PX200, P200E, Lusso as well as other large frame vehicles.

AL/Si-7MG aluminium with perfect silicon/magnesium content for corrosion protection, machining flexibility, fitting accuracy and strength. And also in terms of the crankcase design, the Italians have made a statement: in addition to the stiffening of typical weak points of a standard crankcase, more material was planned where necessary (engine sealing, alternator overflow, cylinder base).

Another innovation: the screw connection. Whereas previous original engines were bolted together with M7 bolts and nuts, the two Malossi One engine halves are assembled with M8 Allen bolts in already integrated threads of the large engine half. The result is a better and stronger connection of both halves. Malossi does not use the large crankcase gasket here. Only temperature-resistant sealant is used!

The crankcase has a recess for the e-starter. The intake and crankcase design have been optimised for a better flow. The overflow has been adapted to the Malossi 210 Sport or 210 MHR. Pre-assembled silent rubbers on engine and shock absorber mount are included.

The Malossi V-One crankcase is perfect to use as a standard replacement. Demanding tuners would go for the Malossi VR-One with all the advantages of the V-One crankcase, but with the use of a roller bearing instead of needle bearing on the alternator side, a well-known problem is solved. Delivery of the VR-One crankcase would include the two crankshaft bearings and the intake manifold including diaphragm. And if you would take into account the no longer needed crankcase gasket, it is unbeatable price bottom line!

  • Note: The Malossi VR-One crankcase has a special feature compared to other PX crankcases: unlike usual on PX engines, there is no floating bearing (roller or needle bearing) on the alternator side of the crankshaft; the crankshaft is guided here by two fixed bearings (deep groove ball bearings). Instructions for installation can be found in the Malossi assembly manual.
